ChargeFinder is a web-based service and app that provides drivers of electric cars and plug-in vehicles with information on where to find charging points via maps. 

The service also allows users to see charging prices, real-time availability and information on how to start charging.

What is ChargeFinder?

With ChargeFinder, drivers of electric cars and plug-in vehicles get real-time information on which charging points are available. The status is retrieved from different operators and networks to ensure high reliability. ChargeFinder continuously adds new stations and networks with live status and aims to include all chargers that are connected.

ChargeFinder is available in several European countries such as Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, England, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Slovenia and Croatia.

The ChargeFinder website presents a comprehensive list of important information for each charging point. Here you can see the charging speed, type of charger, number of outlets, pricing and the operator managing the station. Other relevant site details are also included.

The 'Nearby facilities' feature makes it easy to get an overview of what is available in the area around the charging point. By clicking on this feature, you can get information about nearby amenities. To make it easier to find chargers in the area, ChargeFinder also offers a list of the nearest charging stations based on your current location or selected station. 

For further details and specific location information, users can click on the address to open a link to Google. This provides the opportunity to explore the location further and access any images or additional details about the area.

With ChargeFinder, drivers can plan charging stops during their trip by specifying which cities or places they plan to visit. ChargeFinder will then calculate the optimal route based on choices and preferences. 

On the map, fast chargers along the route will be marked, and the distance to each charger will be clearly displayed in the list view. At a glance, you can see if a charger is available or busy to help you plan ahead and avoid unnecessary queues.

By pulling status directly from different operators and networks, ChargeFinder ensures that users get relevant information about charging locations. It provides an overview of the number of available, occupied or out-of-service chargers. Users can also get detailed information on price and availability for each specific charger.

Destination chargers tend to offer an output from 3 kW to 22 kW. To make it easy to identify them on the map, different shades of orange icons are used. 

A light orange icon usually indicates a power of 3-7 kW, while the darkest shade of orange represents a power of 22 kW. Among fast chargers, 50 kW is the most common power level and they are marked on the map with a dark blue icon. Super fast chargers, also known as HPC (High Power Charger), deliver powers from 100 kW up to 350 kW. Chargers with power above 100 kW are shown with a purple icon on the charging map. 

For Tesla Superchargers and Ionity charging stations, specific icons are used on the map to clearly visualize the networks and facilitate navigation for users.

Service: Map for specific cities

Specific city pages provide a good overview of charging points in a particular city. City pages are available for both larger and smaller cities. For larger cities such as Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö, more detailed information is shown. 

Users can also share a link to a city page with friends and on social media, or add a link to the page from their own website.
